Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah Lead All-Star Line Up
of European Artists
19th May 2010 (London, England) – Hip Hop fans across Europe are excited by the announcement that the upcoming music game, Def Jam Rapstar, will feature territory exclusive tracks in Germany, France and the UK. Developed by 4mm Games, Terminal Reality and Def Jam Interactive and distributed exclusively by Konami and Autumn Games, Def Jam Rapstar is the first true interactive Hip Hop music game experience coming to consoles this fall.
The first two tracks announced as exclusive to the UK edition of Def Jam Rapstar are Tinie Tempah’s massive debut No. 1 hit, “Pass Out”, and the UK’s current Best British Male act* Dizzee Rascal and his hit single “Fix Up, Look Sharp”. Hip Hop fans in France can look forward to NTM featuring Lord Ko’s “Ma Benz” and Sefyu’s “Molotov 4”, while the German version will exclusively feature Sido’s “Mein Block (Beathoavenz remix)” and Kool Savas’s “Futurama”.
“As I continue to travel the globe, I’m always amazed how hip hop has impacted youth culture in every country around the world” stated Kevin Liles, President and CEO of Def Jam Enterprises. “Each territory is creating their own movement, style, artists, and songs that resonate with the hip hop experience in their respective country. Hip hop is global, therefore Def Jam Rapstar must also be global, and provide local content providers the opportunity to represent hip hop in their own language in their own voice.”
“It is fantastic to see such a wide range of both established and upcoming talent, as work ramps up on Def Jam Rapstar,” commented Peter Stone, UK General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “It was always going to be vital to have tracks that mean something to music fans, and we have genuinely covered all bases. Classic tracks from the cream of European and US artists will ensure that Def Jam Rapstar sets its stall from the start as a cutting edge title that will showcase the greatest talent from all over the globe.”
The ultimate emcee experience for video game consoles, Def Jam Rapstar is the only music game that focuses exclusively on Hip Hop. With more than 40 of the greatest Hip Hop songs available at release, including 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Lil’ Wayne and more, Def Jam Rapstar allows you to be the star by rhyming, using your console camera, and uploading your video to the fully integrated Def Jam Rapstar community at www.defjamrapstar.com. Def Jam Rapstar also offers you the ability to freestyle over tracks by some of the hottest hip hop producers and upload your freestyle performances for the world to decide how good you really are.
